Change. That one word can be very scary. It can be stress producing. Changing your job, illness, moving……these change events cause
That’s what is happening in our lives right now. We just closed our office. Moved the office home. Now it looks like we will move from our apartment in Garden City to a three bedroom apartment in a house right next door to our daughters family in Queens. Never would have considered this under normal circumstances. But COVID-19 has made this move a real possibility. It’s a bigger house, the rent is lower by almost a thousand dollars and we will be in a position to help them out with grandchild child care. That’s the good side
But do we want to be so close? Do we want that proximity? Also, I have lived in Nassau county my whole life. Moving to Queens, the city is a big change. Will we become like the TV show Everyone Loves Raymond? There is a big part of me that says we need separation. Distance is good. But so is saving money. And since we’re currently not working lowering our expenses is a good thing
But oh the changes we will make. And the stress it creates, at least temporarily. Interesting times to say the least.
