So I do most of this writing very early in the morning say around 1 am. It’s quiet and I can think and the process is very calming. I enjoy this time.
This evening I am thinking about the present and all the change that might be happening in the next month. As a result of the pandemic we have decided to close our office. After almost forty years of having some sort of office to go to every day, this crazy virus has forced us to move our business home. We really can’t afford rent and no one really wants to come to our office for in person meetings anyway. So we are in the process of moving the operation, what there is of it home.
However, at the same time we now may have the opportunity to move next door to our daughters family in Queens. A three bedroom apartment right next door in their neighbors house is available. The rent is almost $800 less than we’re paying and it’s more room. Most important, during this crazy time of the pandemic we could be a big help to our daughter, son in law and grandchildren. School for the grandkids is all up in the air and Jessica is teaching full time. Getting the kids to and from school is a challenge and being able to watch them without a crazy drive from where we live now in Garden City to Queens could be a good thing.
In normal times this would not be a consideration. A little bit of space is good. Also we would have to see if we can get out of our current lease. But in these crazy times it might be possible. We shall see what happens. But all this possible change is very stressful.
