Just to show you how crazy this world is, I watched the N.Y. Islanders play the Florida Panthers today in the first of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The hockey season was paused back on March 11 and they just started the playoffs today in a hope of crowning aStanley Cup champ. There are 24 teams in the playoffs with 12 teams living and playing inToronto and the other 12 teams playing in Edmonton. The teams are essentially in a bubble trying to protect the players from getting the virus. And the infection rate in Canada is under much better control.
But at least there’s a little bit of normalcy even if we are watching meaningful ice hockey in August. We need the distraction.
