Just about another month done. 2020 continues to be surreal. We are living a “Groundhogs Day” existence. We just keep repeating essentially the same day over and over again. That certainly is how it seems concerning our work life. There is still no work to do in our travel agency. And no one is really planning any kind of travel. There is no where to go. The virus infection levels are high all over the country except here in the northeast. So people don’t really want to go anywhere where the infection levels are high. As for foreign travel, the infection numbers might be lower in Europe but the European countries are not letting Americans into Europe because our infection rates are too high. It’s a mess. So we have no business to do in the travel agency. It is Groundhogs Day.
Socially life is improving a bit. We can go it a little bit more here in NY because the infection rate on a daily basis is about 1%. For example N.Y. did about 55,000 virus tests in the state yesterday and only 500 people tested positive for the disease. So it’s not spreading at an alarming rate. We can go out. The grandkids have visited our community pool. We had a gathering of about 20 people for an unveiling at the cemetery for my father in law who passed away almost a year ago. In this respect there is a little bit more normalcy. But we still don’t go to indoor restaurants. I won’t go to an indoor mall. I haven’t been to a supermarket in four months. This is the state of our life on this day. Overall, still surreal.
