Mommy can’t I just get out of the car? That’s what Jake said today when he came by with his mother and sister just to do a “drive by”. The drove out to our apartment and all he wanted to do is get out of the car and visit, just touch us or come inside. And he was so disappointed when his mom said no. We can’t take the chance. The big bad virus is still out there. Be careful. Must social distance.
And as we tell him we have to remain apart we all get a little bit older. We lose another day to separation. We’re not getting any younger. Time is passing by and time is the most precious commodity. We have to,get back to life sooner than later, I hope. But we must be safe and we can’t spread. This virus. Until we find a cure this s ur only line of defense. So we will do,what we must.
One good thing, actually a blessing, is having my mom staying with us. We made her famous vegetable soup together the other day . I cooked with her. She also, has been telling stories. Tonight she told us how she and dad met. She told us the story on how she walked the boardwalk in Coney Island the night dad got drunk at Aunt Janet and Uncle Ozzies wedding. And a few months after they got married themselves. Hopefully there will be more stories.
