Mom, you want a cup of tea? Sure, she says. This is an unintended benefit of my mom staying at our apartment during the pandemic. She is 92 and has been living by herself since my dad passed away 26 years ago. Since the pandemic started she’s been with my sister Elise or staying with me and Sharon. We can take care of her better than her aides we believe
Any way, every night about 8 pm we have our cup of tea together.. I boil the water, prepare the tea and we sit on the couch , watch TV and drink our tea. Sometimes we even have some mint chip ice cream. My 92 year old mother and her 66 year old son bonding. Not sure I saw this happening. But I am truly lucky and blessed that this has occurred. Yes, there are some good things that have come out of this awful situation. There are silver linings.
