We could all not be together this year for Passover. Typically, we all gather in a group of 15 to 20 people and we squeeze into someone’s home and have a big Passover Seder. They are always fun and much looked forward too. And there is always too much food. It is real family time with four generations in attendance.
But not this year. The caronavirus pandemic has kept us all apart. So while Sharon and I were together, Jessica wa with Craig, Jake and Jenna in her home as was Jonathan in his home and all other nuclear families together their homes.
And we had a communal Seder by video. We set up a Zoom video with everyone together on our IPhones, iPads and computers. We did do an abbreviated version of the Seder. And we were together to read from the Hagguda. We did say the four questions. We did read about the Exodus from Egypt. And I think we fulfilled the basic requirements of a Passover Seder.
But hopefully next year we will all be together and have a Seder in person. As it is always said at the end of the Passover Seder, every year, for thousands of years………… Next year in Jerusalem.
