My older brother was a dog. If I ever write my autobiography, this will be the title of the book. Or maybe the title will be Everything Important I ever learned, was from a dog.
You see when I came into this world and my mom and dad brought me home from the hospital, there to greet me was my older brother, a black collie Shepard mix, Woody. And from the moment I arrived he welcomed me unconditionally.. he was my protector, my confident and my best friend.
He taught me love, he taught me responsibility, he taught me trust and he was my best friend. He watched over me when I was young and we played for endless hours as I got older. And into my early teens I would go on long day walks with him, just me and him all over the neighborhood.
He was a huge part of my life until I was 14 years old. He lived 16 years and over 50 years later I still think about him. He brought such joy to me and my family. Like I said my older brother was Woody a lovely dog.
