In the blink of an eye. Nobody move! Where has the time gone? I have been the Travel Editor for the Vegas Voice and writing travel articles for the “magazine” for almost 15 years. 15 YEARS, since publisher Dan founded the VEGAS VOICE. My children where teenagers. Now I have two grandchildren. At the beginning I was a middle aged “baby boomer”. And now as I write this, in one day: August 16 to be exact, I will start presenting my medi-care card every time I visit the doctor. One of the benefits of getting older. Like I said, nobody move; where do I go to get the time back?
When I first started as the travel editor publisher Dan asked me to start a travel club. So way back when we established the VEGAS VOYAGERS TRAVEL CLUB. The concept was really simple; create group trips for like minded readers of the magazine who enjoy the adventure of travel. Make the trips affordable and never charge a membership fee to be a part of our loosely defined “Club”.
This concept has worked beyond our wildest expectations. Partnering with many of the cruise lines and tour operators, we have literally offered trips for our Voyagers all over the world. Trips have been planned throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, Central and South America, not to say all over the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Groups have been as small as 10 and just this past January we had close to 200 “Voyagers” on a Mexican Rivera cruise hosted by the wonderful singing group the PHAT PACK.
Here’s the good news. We have no plans of retiring any time soon. We have every expectation of continuing to provide outstanding group trips. And we have a number of great one’s planned for 2019 and 2020. Here are a few upcoming trips to consider.
How about our Phat Pack cruise to the Mexican Riviera January 26? There is also a great 10 night northbound Canada New England cruise September 6, 2019. And in last months Vegas Voice I told you all about a 10 night European Explorer cruise set for October 31, 2019 starting in London and ending in Rome. These are just a few examples of what we’re up to. There will be others including river cruise options, Alaska options and we’re even looking at Asia, Australia and South Seas options.
